My name is Catherine Scott and I am the sculptor/reborn artist here at Under the Apple Tree Creations. I have been making dolls and bears for over twenty years, starting with porcelain dolls when I was fourteen. I also have done watercolours, oils, reborning, sewing, scrapbooking, needle felting, card making, pottery and about every other craft on the planet. I have been sculpting for the past three years, and am constantly striving to improve the realism and detail on my sculpts with each new creation. I love to sculpt from great baby pictures, and do love the challenge of a portrait sculpt as you can see from my photos.
Under the Apple Tree, I hear you ask? Well, I am very fortunate to live on a beautiful farm in the south west of West Australia which has about 7,500 apple trees. We have lovely rolling green hills and a very peaceful existence, so it is very inspiring to the artist within! I am Mum to three young kids of 7, 5 and 3 and they are my reason for being in this artform. To capture that little moment in time when they were tiny precious babes and be able to recreate it perfectly in a three dimensional, cuddly form is my ultimate aim. Here are just a few of my past babes for your enjoyment. A few have gone to new homes, others are still waiting, and some are still works in progress . . .
